U11 REP THUNDER 2014

South Surrey White Rock Minor Softball Association is proud to announce that Jonathon Bosnick has been named Head Coach and Courtney Parker has been named Assistant Coach of our new U11 Rep Thunder 2014 team. Additional coaching staff will be named following tryouts.

Jonathon Bosnick
Head Coach of the U11 Rep Thunder 2014 team, Jonathon brings extensive coaching experience and a deep passion for softball to his role. A former standout baseball player in the BC Baseball Premier League and at the University of Texas at Arlington, Jonathon has leveraged his rich playing background to develop young athletes. His commitment to the sport and his team is evident in his dedication to fostering both the skills and the sportsmanship of his players. Under his leadership, the U11 Rep Thunder 2014 team will benefit from his strategic insights and enthusiastic coaching style.

Courtney Parker
Assistant Coach of the U11 Rep Thunder team, Courtney has been a dedicated coach within our association for many years. With a strong background in softball, Courtney played her entire minor ball career in South Surrey and spent six seasons as a Rep A White Rock Renegade. Her experience on the field continues as she actively plays Senior Women's fastpitch. Courtney's extensive playing and coaching experience, along with her passion for the game, make her an invaluable asset to the U11 Rep Thunder team, where she is committed to developing young athletes and fostering a love for softball.

We look forward to seeing our new U11 Rep Thunder 2014 team take to the field and compete in the Lower Mainland U11 Rep league next season.

U13A THUNDER 2013 AND U13B THUNDER 2013

Stefan Durston and his coaching staff including Breanne Dhaliwal and Mickey Rondpre led SSWRMSA's first-ever team in the Lower Mainland U11 Rep Softball League to an outstanding season, achieving a perfect 23-0 regular season win record and an overall 45-1 record. They concluded the season by winning the championship trophy at the July Canada Day Classic. We are thrilled that this accomplished coaching staff will reunite as our U13A Thunder coaches and lead our U13 Long-Term Player Development program alongside U13B Thunder 2013 head coach, Brandur Coombs.

Brandur Coombs served as the lead instructor for our U11 Thunder Select Development Squad and as an assistant coach for our U11 Thunder Select 2013 team. Brandur excelled in developing players in a positive and supportive environment, helping them enhance their skills and work towards their goals.

Courtney Blaak is pleased to join U13B Thunder 2013 head coach Brandur Coombs on the team's coaching staff. Courtney has spent her career playing softball in South Surrey and is still playing as a member of our Senior Women's Thunder team. Courtney is honoured to be able to give back to the next generation of players. Her dedication, passion and ability to connect with the players make her an invaluable addition to our coaching team.

Our Thunder U13A and Thunder U13B teams will collaborate as part of our long-term player development program. This program ensures that all our U13 rep players receive high-level training and have the opportunity to play at the highest possible level.

South Surrey White Rock Minor Softball Association is proud to announce that Daniela Gibson is returning as Head Coach and Mike Anderson as Assistant Coach of our U13B Thunder 2012 team.

Daniela Gibson - Head Coach U13B Thunder 2012

Daniela Gibson is continuing her role as head coach of the U13B Thunder 2012 team. As a former player in youth softball and senior women's ball, Daniela brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep love for the sport. Her coaching style is characterized by encouragement and a strong understanding of the game.

Last season, Daniela focused on player development for the first-year team. This season, she aims to build on those improvements, further enhancing the skills of individual players and strengthening the team as a whole.

Mike Anderson - Assistant Coach U13B Thunder 2012

Mike is returning to his role as assistant coach for our U13B Thunder 2012 team. He is an experienced coach with many years of experience coaching softball, baseball, and hockey. Growing up, Mike played rep-level ball, which has given him a strong understanding of the game and its fundamentals.

Mike is committed to supporting head coach Daniela Gibson in developing their players and ensuring they have a fun season. Over his many years of coaching, Mike's teams have focused on enjoying the sport, having fun, building bonds between teammates, and developing as individuals and as a team.

U15B THUNDER 2011

The South Surrey White Rock Minor Softball Association is pleased to announce the coaching appointments for the U15B Thunder 2011 team for the upcoming season. We are excited to welcome back Davis Jackson as Head Coach, along with Assistants Scott Gogel, Priya Callewaert and Special Instructor Linday Bell.  Additional coaching staff and trainers may be named following tryouts.

Head Coach - U15B Thunder 2011: Davis Jackson

Davis Jackson returns as the Head Coach of our U15B Thunder 2011 team. He is an NCCP Level 2 trained coach with a diploma in sports science and also has extensive experience as a swimming instructor.

Davis has been a dedicated coach within the South Surrey White Rock Minor Softball Association for many years. In addition to his coaching experience, he has an extensive background as a high-level ballplayer.

Davis and his coaching staff are committed to building on their past experiences and continuing to grow as coaches. His focus is on equipping his players with the tools they need to succeed, both on the field and as they develop into young adults.

Assistant Coach - U15B Thunder 2011: Scott Gogel

Scott Gogel returns as the Assistant Coach for our U15B Thunder 2011 team. With many years of coaching experience within our association, Scott is excited to collaborate with the coaching staff to build on past successes and continue the team's development.

Assistant Coach - U15B Thunder 2011: Priya Callewaert

Priya Callewaert returns as an Assistant Coach for our U15B Thunder 2011 team. With extensive experience as a softball player, Priya has played for many years within the South Surrey White Rock Minor Softball Association and at the A level in Ridge Meadows and Cloverdale. She was also part of the team crowned the 2024 Canadian National Champions.

Priya’s experience as a player enables her to connect with and relate to our Thunder 2011 players, as she shares her knowledge and experiences with them.

Special Instructor - U15B Thunder 2011: Lindsay Bell

Lindsay Bell is a Softball Canada CanPitch instructor and a trained coach through the National Coaching Certification Program. She played her minor ball with SSWRMSA, Fraser Valley Fusion, and the White Rock Renegades, before continuing her career at the University of British Columbia. Lindsay currently plays Senior Women's A ball with Surrey Storm - Riske, the 2023 and 2024 Provincial Champions.

Lindsay's career highlights include four Provincial gold medals (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024), a Triple Crown World Series gold medal, a Provincial silver medal, and a National bronze medal. She also won gold at the 2023 and 2024 Women's Elite A Kassandra Kaulius Memorial Tournament.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication demonstrated by our Thunder 2011 team this past season and congratulate them on being crowned district champions.. We are excited to see our players continue to develop both individually and as a team under the leadership of Davis, and the rest of the coaching staff, instructors and trainers. We eagerly anticipate watching our Thunder team take to the field next season as a first-year U15 team.

 U15B THUNDER 2010

South Surrey White Rock Minor Softball Association is pleased to announce the coaching appointments for the U15B Thunder 2010 team for the upcoming season. We are excited to welcome back Travis Deeter as Head Coach, along with Assistant Coaches Erica Matheos and Bryson Stoelers. Additional coaching staff and trainers may be named following tryouts.

Travis Deeter - Head Coach, U15B Thunder 2010

Travis Deeter is entering his second season as the head coach of the Thunder 2010 team. With nine years of experience coaching both softball and soccer, Travis brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team. As a father of three girls, he has a keen understanding of how to teach, manage, and motivate girls in team sports. Travis is committed to ensuring that the team has access to additional specialized resources to improve specific aspects of the game, supplementing the coaching staff's efforts and driving the team’s success.

Erica Matheos - Assistant Coach, U15B Thunder 2010

Erica Matheos returns for her second season as the Assistant Coach of the Thunder 2010 team. Building on the team's accomplishments heading into their second season in the U15 division, Erica is eager to continue fostering the team’s development. She is dedicated to enhancing the growth and skills of each player, with a particular focus on conditioning and mechanics. Erica’s commitment to the team’s progress and her strategic approach aims to create a stronger, more cohesive unit, prepared to tackle the challenges of the upcoming season.

Bryson Stoelers - Assistant Coach, U15B Thunder 2010

Bryson Stoelers is an NCCP Level 2 trained coach, excited to return for his second season as an assistant coach for the Thunder 2010 team. Bryson prioritizes creating a fun and engaging learning environment, helping players develop their skills while building lifelong friendships among teammates. His dedication to both the sport and the personal growth of each player makes him a valuable asset to the Thunder 2010 coaching staff.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication of the players and coaches this past season and are excited to see our Thunder players continue to develop as both individuals and as a team. We are excited to welcome back Aaron Hart as Head Coach, along with new Assistant Coach Jose Au.  Additional coaching staff and trainers may be named prior to or following tryouts, so stay tuned for those updates.

Coaching Staff

Aaron Hart - Head Coach, U17 Thunder (2008-2009)

Aaron Hart is returning for his second season as the head coach of our U17 Thunder team, following several years of dedicated service as the team's assistant coach. Known for his strong focus on mental performance, Aaron is incredibly passionate about softball and deeply committed to both his team and the association.

In 2024, despite not having a full coaching staff, Aaron demonstrated his dependability and commitment to the players' best interests. This season, he is dedicated to ensuring the team has all the necessary resources, including additional trainers when needed, to enhance player development.

Aaron’s unwavering dedication and passion make him an invaluable asset to the U17 Thunder team and the entire association.

Jose Au (Wing Leung, Jose Au) - Assistant Coach, U17 Thunder (2008-2009)

With an impressive background as the Captain of both the Hong Kong National Softball and Baseball teams, and having served as the Head Coach of the Hong Kong National Women's Baseball team, Jose Au brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our U17 Thunder team.

Jose is committed to making a positive impact on the development of our U17 softball program. His leadership experience and mentorship will greatly benefit both the team’s coaches and players, fostering a new era of excellence within our association.

U19B THUNDER 2007

South Surrey White Rock Minor Softball Association is pleased to announce that Tyler Saito is returning as Head Coach for the U19B Thunder 2007 team. He will be joined by Assistant Coaches Mik (Jose) Nery and Travis Wesner.

Tyler Saito is returning for his second season as the Head Coach of the Thunder 2007 softball team. With a deep passion for softball and over eight years of coaching experience, including a tenure with Canada Futures, Tyler brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team. His coaching philosophy centers on skill and team development, ensuring that players grow both on and off the field. Tyler is dedicated to fostering a fun and supportive environment, helping players develop into well-rounded adults and potential future coaches. His commitment to the sport and his team makes him an invaluable leader for the Thunder 2007.

Mik (Jose) Nery - Assistant Coach, U19B Thunder 2007

Mik Nery is a new Assistant Coach for the Thunder 2007 softball team. With a deep passion for the game and a commitment to player development, Coach Mik instills in his players the level of determination needed to help the team succeed. His coaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of enjoying the game, ensuring that every player has fun and feels included. Coach Mik believes in providing all players with the opportunity to excel and have their moment on the field, fostering an environment where everyone has a chance to play and grow.

Travis Wesner - Assistant Coach, U19B Thunder 2007

Travis Wesner is entering his third season as an Assistant Coach for the Thunder 2007 softball team. Travis is eager to collaborate with Head Coach Tyler Saito and fellow Assistant Coach Mik Nery to further enhance the team's performance. His commitment to the Thunder 2007 team and his passion for the sport have made him a valuable asset to the coaching staff, as he continues to contribute to the growth and success of the team.

U19B THUNDER 2006

South Surrey White Rock Minor Softball Association is pleased to announce the coaching appointments for the U19B Thunder 2006 team for the upcoming season. We are excited to welcome Alana Page as Head Coach, along with Assistant Coach Angela Humphrey. Alanna Page - Head Coach, U19B Thunder 2006

Alanna is returning for her second season as head coach of a U19B Thunder team, having led the U19B Thunder 2005/06 team last season.

With a robust background in softball as a player, umpire, and experienced coach, Alanna continues to play Senior Women's softball, which allows her to deeply relate to her players.

Alanna’s coaching philosophy centers on seeking players' input to identify areas they want to improve. She believes that when players set and achieve their own goals, they feel more accomplished and confident in their abilities, both on and off the field.

Alanna is committed to offering players opportunities to develop their skills, ensuring they earn their playing time. She believes that while competition is important, it's equally vital for players to have fun and feel a strong sense of belonging on the team. To enhance training and skill refinement opportunities, she brings in outside expertise when needed, providing players with all the tools necessary to achieve their goals.

Angela Humphrey - Assistant Coach, U19B Thunder 2006

Angela is returning for her second season as an assistant coach for a Thunder U19B team. With many years of coaching experience within our association, she is a Softball Competition Introduction Trained coach.

Angela excels in organizational skills and will continue to develop a strong, skills-based training program. She is committed to bringing in outside expertise when needed to supplement the coaches' efforts, providing players with additional training and skill refinement.

Angela believes in motivating players to work hard and develop their skills, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to earn their playing time. She emphasizes the importance of building relationships with players to make them feel comfortable, safe, and welcomed. Her coaching philosophy focuses on personal development and guiding players to work as a cohesive team.

Angela and her entire family have THUNDER green running through their veins and are grateful to be part of this association, where everyone is considered FAMILY.
