South Surrey White Rock Minor Softball Association is proud to announce the appointment of Roger Werk and Angela Humphrey as Head Coaches for two of our Senior Women’s Thunder teams for the upcoming seasons. With years of experience, passion for the game, and dedication to player development, both coaches are ready to lead our Thunder athletes into the next chapter of competition.
Roger Werk returns to lead the Senior Women’s Thunder after a remarkable 2025 season, where he coached the team to an undefeated run and a gold medal at the Softball BC Senior Women’s B Championship, competing against 13 top-tier teams. In 2023, his team captured the silver medal at Provincials, further solidifying his reputation as a strong and consistent leader. Under Roger’s guidance, the Thunder Senior Women's program is elevating to the Intermediate A level in 2026, and we’re excited to see what this talented group will accomplish next.

SSWRMSA Thunder strikes gold at softball provincial championship
Angela Humphrey has been a pillar of the SSWRMSA community for nearly 20 years. She brings a wealth of experience from coaching at the U10, U12, and U19B levels, most recently serving as Assistant Coach for Thunder 2005/06 and 2006. She is a Softball Canada NCCP Competition-Introduction Trained coach, current Tournament Director, and a dedicated leader focused on creating a positive, growth-oriented team culture. In 2026, Angela will take the helm of our Senior Women’s Intermediate B Tier 3 Thunder team, which will apply to compete in the Fraser Delta Women’s Fastpitch Association and play under Softball BC’s Senior Women’s C division.
“This will be my first year coaching at the Senior Women’s level, and I can’t wait to see how we come together as a team,” says Angela. “Thunder green runs through our family. This is our home.”
