South Surrey White Rock Minor Softball Association is pleased to announce the reappointment of Brandur Coombs as Head Coach of the U13B Thunder 2013 team for the 2026 season.
Coach Brandur returns with a solid foundation of experience and a strong commitment to the development of young athletes within SSWRMSA. His coaching journey includes serving as an Assistant Coach for both the U11C Blueberry Muffins and U11 Thunder Select 2013 teams. He played an instrumental role in launching SSWRMSA’s Thunder Select Player Development Squad program as its first instructor and coordinator. In 2025, Brandur led the U13B Thunder 2013 team as Head Coach and also organized and instructed the U11 Thunder/Renegades Softball Skills Academy. Additionally, he has contributed as a guest coach with the U13A White Rock Renegades 2013, expanding his experience at the A level.
Currently working toward completing the NCCP Softball Community Sport - Ongoing Participation coaching pathway, Brandur brings a strong understanding of youth development and a thoughtful, patient approach to coaching. He is especially skilled in implementing development-focused programs that help athletes grow in both skill and confidence.
Coach Brandur’s philosophy centres on helping players develop a love for the game while supporting them on their journey to becoming stronger, smarter athletes. He emphasizes patience, encouragement, and creating a positive team environment where learning and fun go hand-in-hand.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to continue working with this group and to help both new and returning players grow and thrive,” says Coombs.
SSWRMSA is thrilled to welcome Coach Brandur back for another season and looks forward to seeing the continued development and success of the U13B Thunder 2013 team.
