South Surrey White Rock Minor Softball Association is proud to announce the appointment of Travis Deeter as Head Coach of our U17B Thunder 2010 team for the 2026 season.
Travis returns to lead this team after two successful seasons as Head Coach of the U15B Thunder 2010 program, bringing with him a strong foundation of coaching experience and a deep connection to the athletes he’s mentored. A Softball Competition - Introduction - Trained coach through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), Travis is well-equipped to guide the team into their next phase of development at the U17 level.
His coaching journey spans across both softball and soccer, having served as a coach within South Surrey White Rock Minor Softball Association since 2021 and Coastal FC since 2019. In softball, Travis has led and supported teams from U11C through U15B, including recent participation in the Provincial Championships, where he gained valuable insight into what it takes to compete at the highest level in the division.
A father of three daughters who all play within the Thunder program, Travis brings a unique and relatable perspective to his coaching—one that values connection, positivity, and fun. He is passionate about supporting the personal and athletic growth of his players during what can be a transformative time in their lives. His coaching philosophy is centred on helping young women build self-confidence, resilience, and life skills, all while striving for excellence on the ball field.
As the team moves up to U17B, Travis plans to build on what he’s learned over the past seasons, with a renewed focus on game strategy and skill refinement. Areas of emphasis include improved hitting against a variety of pitches, developing a stronger bunting game, and optimizing the training schedule to allow more time for targeted development.
“I’ve really enjoyed coaching Thunder 2010 and watching the girls grow as athletes and as people,” says Deeter. “It’s been an amazing experience, and I’m excited to continue the journey with them at U17. Go Thunder!”
SSWRMSA is excited to welcome Travis back in this leadership role and looks forward to another season of growth, teamwork, and Thunder pride.
